Description

GENERAL SUMMARY: Professional with at least 1-5 years of proven experience providing engineering and analysis support, preferably in a DoD and/or laboratory setting.

LOCATION: Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock, West Bethesda, MD

PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Research marine environmental equipment for the US Navy.
  • Draft test plans and operating procedures for research and development laboratory testing and evaluation purposes.
  • Conduct testing and evaluation of marine environmental systems in a laboratory setting; troubleshooting systems when necessary.
  • Documenting results in the form of equipment matrices, large data analyses, and detailed final reports.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE MUST HAVE:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical or Environmental)

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret level security clearance. ship is a prerequisite.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Able to apply principals of engineering standards to develop test methodology and to perform data analysis.
  • Ability to present test results in a clear and concise manner and to write technical reports is essential.

PREFERRED:
  • Experience testing equipment in a laboratory setting. This includes design of experiments, testing the equipment, and data gathering and analysis.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: waste processing, heat transfer, and environmental standards/regulations.
  • Experience providing support to Navy or USCG programs and customers.
  • Experience working in the maritime industry.
