The Boeing Company Oklahoma City (OKC) site performs major modernization and modification of aircraft across a broad portfolio of military products, including bombers, advanced sensor aircraft and executive transport aircraft.

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking an Experienced Systems Engineer within the Executive Transport Services and Support (ETS&S) Systems Engineering Capability in Oklahoma City, OK.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Develop integrated plans, establish and lead teams, monitor and respond to technical developments, risk management, and manage all aspects of projects to closure
  • Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify complex lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions
  • Manage the system, subsystem and component level requirements
  • Exercises critical thinking and innovative problem solving
  • Evaluates customer/operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces
  • Prepare and present technical documentation and reports for delivery to customers
  • Performs various analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture
  • Identifies, analyzes, and assesses regulatory and contractual compliance of aerospace systems, products and services
  • Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to define, validate, and integrate airworthiness and regulatory compliance requirements; incorporates into designs, operations, and procedures.
  • Reviews regulatory and customer requirements and evaluates impact to company products and services
  • Analyzes regulatory and certification technical data for completeness and alignment to applicable regulatory and contractual requirements.
  • Develops compliance statements for the airworthiness of aerospace systems and products.
  • Supports partnering with regulatory authorities to complete validation of airworthiness to applicable requirements as authorized
  • Develops, reviews, and maintains compliance reports and documents in accordance with applicable requirements and regulations

This position allows some telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform most work onsite at the listed location.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires ship. An interim and/or final U.S. secret clearance Post Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • Experience working across multiple engineering disciplines
  • Experience as a self-starter with strong written and oral communication skills, and a focus on translating technically complex issues into simple, easy to understand concepts
  • 3+ years related systems engineering work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • 5+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Active security clearance
  • Experience with Military or Commercial aircraft design and/or analysis experience within Airframe, Flight Sciences, Interiors, Propulsion, or Systems
  • Experience with delivery and certification processes, working with FAA regulations, and Regulatory Administration
  • Experience of how to derive and allocate requirements (e.g., system, sub-system, software) and show traceability throughout the product lifecycle
  • Experience working across multiple business units and/or complex organizations
  • Experience with leading major design changes through multiple phases of product lifecycle
  • Experience communicating with senior leadership and program customers
