Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced ETL QA Engineer to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of data across our ETL pipelines, data warehouses, and reporting systems. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, hands-on experience in ETL testing, and a deep understanding of data validation, SQL, and QA methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform end-to-end testing of ETL processes, including data extraction, transformation, and loading across various data systems.
  • Validate data accuracy, completeness, and quality across data pipelines and warehouse environments.
  • Develop, execute, and maintain test cases, test plans, and test scripts specific to ETL workflows.
  • Conduct source-to-target mapping validation and ensure adherence to business and transformation rules.
  • Perform regression, functional, integration, and system testing for ETL jobs.
  • Work closely with Data Engineers, Developers, Business Analysts, and Product Owners to understand requirements and translate them into effective test strategies.
  • Use SQL extensively to write complex queries for data comparison, validation, and troubleshooting.
  • Identify, document, and track defects using standard QA tools and collaborate with teams for resolution.
  • Automate data validation and ETL test processes using tools or scripting languages when applicable.
  • Participate in daily Scrum/Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous quality improvements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
  • 3 6 years of hands-on experience in ETL testing or Data Warehouse QA.
  • Strong proficiency in Guidewire.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL (joins, aggregates, subqueries, analytical functions).
  • Solid understanding of ETL concepts, data modelling, and data workflows.
  • Experience testing ETL tools such as Informatica, Talend, SSIS, DataStage, ODI, or similar.
  • Familiarity with BI/reporting tools (Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, MicroStrategy) is a plus.
  • Experience with defect management tools like JIRA, ALM, or Azure DevOps.
  • Knowledge of automation frameworks or scripting (Python, Shell, or similar) is an added advantage.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
