Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Mainframe Tech Lead with 10+ years of technical experience to lead development and support for the ACAS domain claims processing systems. This is a Remote role requiring expert proficiency in Mainframe COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, and CICS. The Lead will be responsible for translating business needs into technical specifications, hands-on development, providing technical guidance to onshore/offshore teams, and ensuring high-quality delivery across mission-critical mainframe applications. Mandatory experience in healthcare claims workflows is required.
Key Responsibilities & Required Skills
Core Mainframe Development & Leadership
Hands-on Development: Design, develop, test, and debug mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2, and CICS.
Technical Guidance: Provide mentorship and technical guidance to offsite leads and developers, and coordinate daily tasks between onsite/offshore teams.
Tools: Strong proficiency with IBM mainframe tools such as z/OS, ISPF, TSO, File-Aid, and SCM.
Quality Control: Lead and participate in code reviews and optimize mainframe programs for improved performance.
Domain Expertise & Process
Domain Focus: Mandatory healthcare claims domain experience for understanding complex claims processing workflows (ACAS domain).
Requirements: Perform requirement analysis and translate business needs into detailed technical specifications.
Deployment: Solid understanding of mainframe code migration processes (package creation, verification, and backout strategies).
Methodology: Experience with Agile development methodologies.
