Position Description:

We are seeking highly motivated and experienced Cost Control Analyst to join our team within KBR's Defense Systems Engineering Business Unit (DSE); a business unit within KBR Government Solutions, a leading global Aerospace and Defense contractor with capabilities supporting defense, space, aviation, and other government programs and missions. Cost Control Analyst responsibilities include but not limited to:

Applicant will be primarily responsible for financial execution, program control and general government compliance monitoring task orders with financial reporting requirements on CPFF, CPAF, T&M and/or Fixed Price contracts. Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • In-depth knowledge of financial forecasting, budgeting, analysis, and reporting cycles, to include experience in estimates to complete/estimates at completion, variance and trend analysis and project schedules.
  • Support the development of program plans and estimates. Establish and maintain contract baseline budgets and plan milestones.
  • Generate Cost Performance Reports (CPR) and Hours and Labor Reports on a monthly or bi-weekly basis.
  • Analyze and validate project costs and perform analysis of project performance status.
  • Responsible for Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) maintenance, and charge number control.
  • Perform moderate to complex accounting and analytical tasks, including transaction processing, account reconciliation and analysis, journal entries and cost accruals.
  • Analyze program funding requirements; funding tracking to include subcontractor costs and fees.
  • Develop PowerPoint slides and ability to present to internal and external customers.
  • Maintain a high level of customer focus.
  • General knowledge of contract management procedures and government contract processes.
  • Knowledge of pricing concepts and applications. Experience in responding to Request for Proposal (RFP) and generating on-contract cost proposals.
  • Develop training materials and ability to train junior analysts on financial processes.
  • Support process improvement initiatives.
  • Proficient in Excel and Deltek Accounting software (Costpoint, COGNOS)
  • Possess excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrate ability to effectively interact cross functionally both with verbal and written skills.
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities among work groups.
  • Capable of a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and high level of accountability.
  • Ability to identify, diagnose, and resolve complex problems independently as well as work well with a team.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
  • Cobra and SmartView experiences are a plus.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • >3 years of applicable experience
