Job Title: Senior Desktop Management Engineer Infrastructure Services (IS)
Location: Collegeville, PA 19426
Employment Type: Contract 6 Months (W-2)
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Desktop Management Engineer with deep expertise in Infrastructure Services (IS) to maintain, secure, and troubleshoot a large-scale global PC infrastructure. This role requires advanced technical troubleshooting, strong end-user support skills, and experience in validated system environments (GxP). You will collaborate closely with scientists, IT teams, and business stakeholders to ensure seamless operations across R&D and corporate systems.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and support 5,000+ PCs globally across multiple sites.
Image, configure, onboard, and decommission computers within the corporate domain and network.
Secure and protect hardware in compliance with IT security standards.
Provide advanced troubleshooting for obscure issues, from device connectivity to laboratory software.
Implement validated data backup solutions for laboratory analytical equipment (GxP and non-GxP environments).
Support scientists with incident management, user coaching, and access management.
Perform software testing and validation (across multiple environments) and write technical documentation.
Work with ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow) to track and resolve support requests.
Collaborate in Agile working environments for both daily operations and project delivery.
Required Skills & Experience
7+ years of experience in Desktop Management Infrastructure Services.
Advanced desktop troubleshooting skills, including obscure and complex issue resolution.
Proven background in End-User Computing or Desktop Support.
Strong knowledge of hardware components and networking concepts:
Network topology, VLANs, static/dynamic IPs, subnetting, IT/OT networks, basic firewalls.
Familiarity with the OSI model and troubleshooting network layers.
Hands-on Active Directory expertise.
Experience in computer security best practices.
Familiarity with validated systems (GxP).
Proficiency with ticketing systems like ServiceNow.
Agile ways of working.
Preferred Skills
Experience supporting laboratory environments.
Microsoft Excel skills.
Knowledge of Microsoft OS, iOS, and Linux.
Experience in writing technical documentation and validation protocols.
