Job Details

1. Digital Signal Processing (DSP) & Applied Acoustics
Deep understanding of audio codecs, compression artifacts, bitrates, and sampling theory.
Ability to apply noise reduction, voice activity detection (VAD), preamble trimming, and channel
separation at scale.
2. Speaker Diarization & Voice Printing
Experience with clustering, similarity measures, and handling overlapping speech.
3. Command-Line Audio Processing & Shell Scripting
Skilled in tools such as ffmpeg, sox, aubio, and integrating scripts into data pipelines.

Prior experience building scalable, high-volume audio processing solutions
The recordings / audio data is received from 3rd party telecom providers that send the data in a
wide range of formats. i.e. stereo, mono, etc...
Must be a collaborative and adaptable problem-solver, who is comfortable working in remote,
distributed environments.
Strong documentation and reproducibility mindset.
Description
Our client is a leading provider of advanced analytics solutions for the public safety sector. They process
and analyze large volumes of recorded audio data to support investigations and improve operational
efficiency. This role focuses on enhancing audio quality and enabling voice biometrics at scale.
Measuring your success will be results-driven-quality of audio improvements and success in enabling
voice biometrics.
Job Responsibilities:
Design and build solutions to improve audio quality of call recordings to enable accurate voice
biometrics, at scale.
Apply DSP techniques for noise reduction, voice activity detection, and channel separation.
Develop and integrate audio processing scripts into scalable data pipelines.
Collaborate with ML team to optimize audio for embedding generation.
Technical Environment:
Tools: AWS, ffmpeg for audio processing, Amazon Transcribe
Audio formats: MP3, FLAC; stereo and mono recordings.
Data pipelines integrated with AWS services for transcription and analytics.
Work Environment:
Remote-first team with flexible hours (core overlap 11 AM - 5 PM ET).

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00/hr.
