Job Description:
We re looking for a Systems Engineer (LAN/WAN) to support a federal government client, focusing on network monitoring, switch management, and Tier 2 ServiceNow support for wired infrastructure. You will work closely with internal teams to troubleshoot and resolve LAN issues, maintain switch configurations, and support end-user network needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide Tier 2 support via ServiceNow to resolve LAN-related incidents and service requests.
Configure and maintain network hardware (Cisco, Meraki, Aruba, Juniper).
Troubleshoot switches, routers, cabling, and perform VLAN configurations.
Implement and document LAN protocols and configurations.
Assist Tier 1 support and coordinate with Tier 3 for escalations.
Monitor and enhance network performance, propose cost-effective solutions.
Must-Have Skills:
5+ years LAN/WAN support experience
Hands-on with Cisco, Aruba, Meraki, or Juniper switches
Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, Spanning Tree
Familiar with ServiceNow for ticketing
Excellent communication and troubleshooting skills
Understanding of LAN security practices
Nice to Have:
IP Address Management and voice VLAN experience
Experience with switch acceptance, Fortinet firewalls
Familiarity with federal agency environments
