Job Description

Must Have Technical/Functional Skills:

  • •Expertise in AWS RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, and other Sql & non Sql databases.
  • •Strong knowledge on database administration,backup,HADR approach and performance tuning.
  • •Familiarity with AWS security best practices and compliance standards.
  • •Experience with automation tools and scripting languages (Python, Bash).
  • •Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • The AWS Database Administrator is responsible for managing, optimizing, and securing databases hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS). This role involves designing scalable database solutions, ensuring high availability, and implementing best practices for performance and security.
  • Design, implement, and maintain databases on AWS (RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, etc.).
  • Perform database administration tasks including backups, restores, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Monitor database performance and optimize queries for efficiency.
  • Implement security measures including encryption, IAM roles, and access controls.
  • Manage database migrations to AWS from on-prem or other cloud platforms.
  • Automate routine tasks using AWS tools and scripting (Python, Shell).
  • Collaborate with application teams to ensure database design meets business requirements.
  • Troubleshoot database issues and provide timely resolutions.
  • Maintain documentation for database architecture and operational procedures.
