Job Description:

A well-established IT consulting firm is seeking a Senior IT Network Support Engineer for a high-visibility project focused on VMware hardening, as well as providing support for Windows-based networks, Microsoft 365, and Active Directory environments.

This role is ideal for a technically strong, articulate engineer with 7+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise network environments. The position involves working directly with clients and implementing security best practices and infrastructure improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and implement VMware hardening tasks:

    • Disable unnecessary services and features (e.g., copy-paste, drag-and-drop, unused protocols)

    • Apply regular OS and application security patches

    • Configure and enable host-based firewalls

    • Implement role-based access control, least privilege, and MFA

    • Encrypt VM disks and secure network traffic (SSL/TLS)

    • Set up monitoring, IDS/IPS, and centralized logging for threat detection

  • Provide desktop and server support, including:

    • Security patching of servers and applications

    • Firmware updates

    • End-user support for standard applications

Preferred Experience:

  • High availability technologies

  • Market data and trading systems

  • Background in financial services environments
