Job Title: Lead Payment & Fraud Systems Architect

Location: Atlanta, GA / Bellevue, WA (Hybrid: 3+ days onsite)

Job Summary:

The Principal Systems Architect will design scalable, secure, and high-performance payment and fraud management systems. This role focuses on payment processing, tokenization, fraud detection, and risk mitigation across all client channels. The candidate will define and uphold architecture and technology standards, and drive innovation with emerging technologies in the payments and fraud domain.

Responsibilities:

• Define and align development processes with security, compliance, and scalability standards.
• Design real-time, secure transaction processing systems.
• Maintain PCI compliance and secure API integrations.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, security, and compliance teams.
• Lead PoCs to assess fraud detection techniques and payment optimizations.
• Implement tokenization and fraud scoring models.
• Architect cloud-based payment systems and fraud management platforms.
• Provide documentation and standard process guidelines.
• Evaluate third-party tools for inclusion in enterprise systems.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field. Advanced degrees preferred.

Licenses/Certifications:

• Desirable: Java, Microsoft, Oracle, AWS, TOGAF, CISSP, CISM, PCI-ISA

Work Experience:

Required:

• 7 10 years in enterprise IT (e-commerce, payments, or financial services)
• 7 10 years as an architect or lead engineer in scalable systems
• 4 7 years in B2C e-commerce architecture
• Experience in secure mobile payment platforms (Apple Pay, Google Pay, etc.)

Preferred:

• 5+ years in payments architecture (authorization, settlement, reconciliation)
• 5+ years in fraud prevention/risk management
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform), Kubernetes, or serverless
• Experience with payment orchestration, gateway integrations, 3DS
• Blockchain or Real Time Payments (RTP) knowledge
