Job Details

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced VMware Architect to design and implement enterprise-grade virtualization and hybrid cloud solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in VMware Cloud Foundation, vSphere, NSX, and integration with Red Hat, OpenShift, Nutanix, and AWS environments. This role involves leading architecture design, migration strategies, and automation initiatives for large-scale infrastructures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect VMware Solutions:
    Design and implement VMware-based architectures including vSphere, vSAN, NSX, Horizon, and VMware Cloud Foundation.

  • Hybrid Cloud Integration:
    Develop and manage hybrid cloud strategies integrating VMware Cloud on AWS, Azure VMware Solution, and on-prem environments.

  • OpenShift & Red Hat Integration:
    Architect and deploy Red Hat Enterprise Linux and OpenShift container platforms within VMware environments.

  • Nutanix & Hyperconverged Infrastructure:
    Design and implement Nutanix AHV and VMware interoperability for hyperconverged solutions.

  • Automation & Infrastructure as Code:
    Implement automation using PowerCLI, Ansible, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines for VMware operations.

  • Security & Compliance:
    Ensure architectures meet compliance standards (e.g., PCI DSS, NIST, ISO 27001) and implement IAM and network security controls.

  • Performance & Capacity Planning:
    Define capacity models, performance baselines, and monitoring strategies using VMware Aria Operations and CloudWatch.

  • Collaboration & Leadership:
    Work closely with cloud, network, and security teams; mentor engineers and lead architecture workshops.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    10+ years in virtualization and cloud architecture, with strong VMware expertise.

  • Technical Expertise:

    • VMware: vSphere, vSAN, NSX, VCF, Horizon
    • Cloud: AWS (EC2, VPC, IAM), VMware Cloud on AWS, Azure VMware Solution
    • OS & Containers: Red Hat Enterprise Linux, OpenShift
    • Hyperconverged: Nutanix AHV, Prism
    • Automation: PowerCLI, Ansible, Terraform, Python
    • Networking: VLANs, BGP, OSPF, VPN

  • Certifications (Preferred):
    VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP), AWS Solutions Architect, Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), Nutanix Certified Professional.
