This role pays $75.00-85.00/HR W2 based on experience.
Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Analyst to support the client's Merger & Acquisition efforts related to Commercial and Business Banking Loan Origination Systems (LOS). This role is critical in ensuring accurate, compliant, and seamless conversion of LOS data from acquired institutions into the client's environment. The analyst will perform deep data mapping, migration validation, regulatory alignment, and cross-functional coordination to preserve lending workflows, credit risk processes, and operational integrity throughout the acquisition lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform detailed analysis of source and target banking systems, including core banking platforms, lending systems, credit risk, and Salesforce CRM.
  • Develop comprehensive data mapping documentation with transformation logic, field-level mappings, and validation rules for customer, loan, collateral, and transactional data.
  • Design and support ETL processes to enable accurate, efficient data migration for M&A conversion events.
  • Conduct pre-conversion and post-conversion audits to ensure data integrity, completeness, and compliance with regulatory expectations.
  • Partner with business and technical SMEs to understand source-to-target relationships and aid in determining transformation logic where applicable.
  • Ensure adherence to the client's data governance standards and internal audit controls throughout conversion activity.
  • Use SQL, Excel, and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) to extract, transform, validate, and analyze large datasets across multiple banking and lending systems.
  • Identify data anomalies, gaps, and inconsistencies; provide root-cause insight and recommendations for remediation.
  • Create data quality scorecards, conversion progress reports, exception summaries, and compliance-ready reporting for leadership and regulatory stakeholders.
  • Present findings, risks, and trends in a clear and actionable manner to senior leaders and M&A program stakeholders.
  • Support decision-making by modeling operational impacts and predicting conversion-related data outcomes.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for data-related issues during conversion waves.
  • Perform root-cause analysis on data discrepancies, implementing corrective steps, and mitigation strategies.
  • Document issues, resolutions, and lessons learned to continuously improve future acquisition playbooks.
  • Partner with M&A project managers to ensure data conversion activities align with program milestones and regulatory deadlines.
  • Work with business analysts, credit/risk teams, and compliance to ensure converted data aligns with functional requirements and regulatory obligations.
  • Communicate findings to non-technical audiences in clear and consumable formats.
  • Facilitate working sessions to gather requirements, validate assumptions, and share conversion progress.
  • Serve as a liaison between lending business units, risk partners, IT integration teams, and vendor partners to ensure data accuracy and system integrity.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in data analysis, data mapping, or data validation within financial services.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, SQL, and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau).
  • Strong understanding of lending workflows, credit risk processes, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience with Credit Spreading, Risk Analysis & Rating, Underwriting Originations, Collateral Management, and Loan Servicing.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under tight deadlines.
Preferred Experience:
  • Experience with Salesforce Financial Services Cloud (FSC) or LOS platforms.
  • Familiarity with Commercial or Business Banking lending products, workflows, and data structures.
  • Experience supporting conversions for mergers/acquisitions.
  • Knowledge of ETL tools, data governance, or enterprise architecture concepts.
