Project Manager with Enterprice Application Experience

  • Provide management, installation, maintenance and support of current and future enterprise software applications, including software applications.

  • Perform software application upgrades, including IBM iSeries operating system upgrades and PTFs.

  • Analyze needs, and strategically plan for future hardware and software purchases, replacements, upgrades, and additional tools or utilities related to the City's software applications, necessary to improve service.

  • Plan, execute and manage software-related projects using project management best practices.

  • Work with City departments to ensure continued and expanded use of software applications, including implementation and coordination of training.

  • Develop and implement programs or procedures to enhance system effectiveness and efficiency.

  • Implement appropriate measures for business continuity in the event of software application(s) or related system/server failure.

  • Monitor event logs, system messages, alerts for all application software and systems in order to respond and correct problems and issues.

  • Manage setup, configuration and overall operation of IBM iSeries systems and Microsoft Windows application servers used by software applications.

  • Create, manage and monitor system outqueues and printers for all enterprise software applications and IBM iSeries systems.

  • Develop and assist users with the use and creation of reports in software applications using IBM iSeries queries, SQL queries, Cognos, etc.

  • Establish, document and manage security access, profiles and procedures for software applications. Create new users, assign users to required security groups and provide/setup additional security permissions and groups as needed for all software applications. Disable and remove security access and groups for terminated employees.

  • Monitor, complete and close service requests as they are entered in the IT Service Desk.

  • Receive, review, prepare and/or submit various records and reports including program printouts, status reports, analysis reports, procedural documentation, correspondence, etc.

  • Leverage technical, business and financial acumen to interact and communicate effectively with a variety of groups and individuals including IT personnel, department heads and other employees, City Manager, computer vendors and service providers.

  • Operate a variety of office and specialized machinery in the performance of job tasks, including mid-range and PC hardware and software; printers and various office and communications machinery.
