Rate of Pay: $131,040.00 to $151,700.00 per Year
Duties: Perform hydraulic designs for storm sewer, culverts and bridges, including hydrologic analysis with rational method or HEC-HMS, 3D storm drainage analysis with OpenRoads Designer D&U, culvert analysis with HY-8 and bridge hydraulic analysis with HEC-RAS. Perform complex engineering tasks and particularly important engineering work efficiently and accurately. Extract engineering information for CAD drawings (using MicroStation and Openroads Designer). Prepare engineering computations, quantity takeoffs, estimates, and designs. Prepare, coordinate, and perform engineering design for assigned projects/tasks. Participate in strategizing, storyboarding, writing, and reviewing proposals - become an integral part of the team's success. Serve as Discipline Lead on pursuits and opportunities with TxDOT and other clients Support Alternative Technical Concept development for design/build proposals. Participate in proposal writing, client meetings, and client presentations. Prepare roadway construction documents including plans, maps, drawings, reports, data spreadsheets, specifications, quantities, cost estimates, schedules, supporting documents and permit applications to help with the schematic and PS&E design using automated roadway/highway design programs and computer-assisted design. Perform civil design calculations, reading and interpreting surveys, researching design options, creating project reports, CADD review and drafting. Perform hydrologic and hydraulic studies using standard software to develop drainage plan sheets and calculations.
May telecommute.
Texas Professional Engineer license required.
Requirements: Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field followed by 6 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a Sr. Drainage Engineer-related occupation.
Position requires:
Conducting hydrologic and hydraulic engineering analysis Preparing, reviewing, and processing engineering plans, specifications, and estimates Utilizing hydraulic software (HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, HY-8, OpenRoads Designer D&U) Designing scour countermeasures Preparing engineering computations and designs
