ASSYST is seeking a skilled Testin Specialist to support our client in Baltimore, Maryland.
Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Job Type: Contract (W2/C2C or 1099)
Position: Onsite, No Remote Work Allowed.
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Testing Specialist to perform software validation and testing for complex health exchange and enterprise web-based systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, executing, and maintaining test plans, test cases, and testing strategies while ensuring conformance with design requirements and performance expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute test cases, test scripts, and test scenarios based on verbal/written requirements and functional specifications.
- Perform a variety of testing types including regression, integration, interface, user acceptance (UAT), and downstream functionality testing.
- Prepare test data and documentation, review test results, and assess software compliance with specifications.
- Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to identify and resolve defects and clarify requirements.
- Utilize tools such as JIRA for defect tracking and management.
- Conduct performance testing using tools such as JMeter, Gatling, or BlazeMeter.
- Execute API services testing with tools like ReadyAPI.
- Conduct peer reviews of test documentation and participate in quality assurance activities.
- Create and manage test calendars and coordinate testing activities across teams.
- Perform backend database validation using SQL, PostgreSQL, or similar systems.
- Ensure websites and applications function properly across multiple browsers and devices.
- Support system testing, mobile testing, data migration, data integrity, and data transformation testing.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience as a Java/Web application tester.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in UAT for complex, public-facing systems.
- At least 2 years of experience testing web applications.
- Strong knowledge and practical experience in testing across multiple browsers and platforms.
- Experience with defect management tools like JIRA.
- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and related web technologies.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience in mobile and backend testing, including writing complex SQL queries.
- Prior work experience testing State-Based Health Insurance Marketplaces or healthcare systems is highly preferred.
