Full time opportunity (no contracts). We are partnering with a leading provider in the fiber-optic telecommunications industry to find a talented Sales Engineer to support their growing commercial sales efforts. Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience selling telecom solutions including VoIP, SIP, PRI, Internet, Managed Wi-Fi, Carrier Ethernet, MPLS, SD-WAN, and Hosted PBX
- At least 3 years of experience as a Sales Engineer
- At least 3 years of experience in Sales Consulting
- Proven experience designing and selling fiber optic technology solutions
- Experience delivering training in both in-person and virtual formats
- Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, IT, or a related field required
- Proficiency with Visio, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Wi-Fi design software
- Industry certifications such as MEF/CECP, CCDA, or CCNA are highly preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Valid driver s license and willingness to travel as needed
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary technical resource for various commercial sales teams
- Lead the technology evaluation stage of the pre-sales process and act as a key technical advisor and product advocate
- Design, price, and present complex fiber-based network solutions tailored to customer needs
- Conduct product and process training for sales teams
- Prepare cost estimates by collaborating with engineering, field operations, and technical staff
- Support sales channels with the technical portions of RFIs and RFPs
- Create detailed Statements of Work (SOW) for customer contracts
- Offer guidance and recommendations to internal stakeholders during the sales and implementation process
- Maintain industry and competitive product knowledge
- Document and track internal requests using appropriate systems
- Stay current with advancements in fiber optics and telecom technology
- Travel within the assigned sales territory as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Work Location
This is a hybrid position. The ideal candidate should be located within one hour of the Indianapolis market. Occasional travel to customer sites within the Indiana market will be required for in-person meetings and sales support.
