Job Description

Key Position Responsibilities
- Apply maintenance using SMP/E.
- Code and troubleshoot issues with JCL.
- Define network connections for printers, Iseries, and mainframe devices.
- Respond to issues with mainframe committed printers.
- Define resources to the transactional system known as CICS.
- Assist users with problem determination for CICS-related issues.
- Define and maintain JES2 resources.
- Perform maintenance and coordinate the centralized faxing system, Rightfax.
- Prepare and participate in yearly Disaster Recovery procedures.
- Manipulate various software products, including those from CA and IBM, as well as OEM products.
Specific Accomplishments Encouraged in First 6-18 Months
- Gain full knowledge of all current systems, including mainframe, Iseries, and Rightfax.
- Take on the main role for all Computer Associate software products.
Essential Functions Required
- Perform installations, maintenance, and issue resolution for each of Broadcom AKA Computer Associates software offerings.
- Code and read Assembler or COBOL programs
Skills/Attributes Required/Sought
- Profound understanding of z/OS, Unix Systems Services, and Iseries.
- In-depth SMP/E knowledge.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP for z/OS related network configuration practices.
- Ability to develop and adjust ISPF Panels.
- Profound understanding of ACF2 Security administration practices.
- Experience in Disaster Recovery planning and execution for both Mainframe and I-Series.
- Advanced Job Control Language (JCL) skills.
- Knowledge of transactional systems (CICS) internals.
- JES2 Administration experience.
- Ability to compose and maintain documentation for various Operating System environments.
