System Administrator (Multi-Platform)
12 months Contract Hybrid Position
Location: Berwyn, PA
Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Multi-Platform System Administrator with 10+ years of IT experience, including at least 5 years in a manufacturing environment. This individual will be responsible for supporting a diverse IT infrastructure, including Windows and Linux servers, desktops and laptops (Windows/macOS), virtualization platforms, and operational technology (OT) systems.
The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise across platforms, a solid understanding of cybersecurity best practices, outstanding troubleshooting skills, and a user-first approach to supporting both IT and OT operations.
Responsibilities:
• Administer and maintain Windows Server (expert level) and Linux systems (RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS).
• Manage MacOS environments and related endpoints.
• Administer and support VMware vSphere virtualization infrastructure.
• Maintain server and workstation hardware, operating systems, and enterprise applications.
• Execute system patching, software deployment, and configuration management (preferably using Microsoft Intune/Autopilot).
• Conduct data backup and disaster recovery using tools like Veeam, ensuring data integrity and system resilience.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability.
• Implement and enforce security best practices and remediate identified vulnerabilities.
• Manage and support Active Directory, Group Policy (GPO), Remote Desktop Services (RDS), Microsoft 365, and other Microsoft services.
• Provide end-user support for both local and remote users through a ticketing system.
• Maintain and support Manufacturing OT infrastructure and related systems.
Qualifications
• Expert-level experience with Windows Server (2016 and newer), Linux (CLI), and VMware vSphere.
• Proficient with desktop environments (Windows/macOS), Active Directory, GPO, and backup technologies.
• Experience in hardware installation and maintenance (servers and workstations).
• Strong understanding of networking principles, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VLANs.
• Exposure to Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and shop floor technologies.
• Familiarity with SQL Server, IIS/Apache, and collaboration platforms (e.g., Microsoft Teams)
• Experience with Cisco networking, firewalls, VPNs, and Azure fundamentals.
• Industry certifications are a plus: MCSE, Server+, Network+, Security+.
