Principal Security Architect

Location: Remote Preference for candidates based in the Eastern U.S., followed by Central, then Western regions

Travel Requirements: Remote with occasional travel within the continental U.S.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Security Architect to help grow our Security Practice. This is a hands-on role combining both security architecture and engineering delivery with sales enablement responsibilities. You'll be responsible for delivering exceptional outcomes for clients, supporting pre-sales activities, and contributing to the strategic development of security services and solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and contribute to both security architecture design and implementation projects.
  • Split time between professional services delivery and pre-sales support (50/50 split expected; may shift based on demand).
  • Participate in or lead delivery projects, assessments, and consulting engagements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams including other practice areas, solution architects, engineers, and sales.
  • Create and deliver high-quality design artifacts such as HLDs, LLDs, BOMs, SOWs, and LOEs.
  • Respond to RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs.
  • Develop and present collateral (presentations, feature matrices, pre-sales decks).
  • Research and integrate emerging technologies through lab evaluations and cross-platform integrations.
  • Deliver internal enablement and knowledge transfer sessions.

Required Qualifications

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills across all levels of client organizations.
  • Ability to independently produce technical documentation and advisory content.
  • Strong experience driving pre-sales opportunities from initiation to close.
  • Capable of leading and/or overseeing successful delivery of security projects.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving mindset in fast-paced environments.
  • Willingness to co-develop and co-lead workshops and executive briefings.

Preferred Qualifications & Certifications (Nice to Have)

  • Certifications:
    • CISSP, CISA, or CISM
    • AWS Certified Security Specialty
    • Azure Security Engineer
    • Tanium (TCO, TCA)
    • Zscaler (ZDTA, ZTCA)
    • CyberArk (Defender, Sentry, Guardian)
    • SailPoint (IdentityIQ or IdentityNow Engineer)
    • Fortinet (NSE 4+, or FCP+)
    • Palo Alto (PCNSE or higher)
  • Expertise in 1 2 domains such as:
    • Network Security
    • Cloud Security
    • Application Security
    • Endpoint Security
    • Identity & Access Management
  • Experience in enterprise security deployments within Fortune 250 companies.
