Data Warehouse Technical Specialist

DataStaff, Inc. is seeking a Data Warehouse Technical Specialist for a long-term contract opportunity with one of our direct clients in Raleigh, NC.

*This position is remote with occasional onsite.

Responsibilities:

• Provide advanced architect (lead technical expert) support and requires experience in systems development tools and techniques.
• Duties include client needs assessment as well as evaluating hardware availability and software requirements.
• Responsible for various activities related to the design, implementation and maintenance of complex Oracle and SQL Server databases.
• The role involves linking technical expertise with business, research, or instructional needs, ranging from consulting services (software or hardware recommendations) to the development of integrated, automated systems.

Knowledge and Experience:

• Experienced in supporting applications based on various platforms and technologies such as IBM Mainframe, Sun Solaris (UNIX), Database platforms and tools (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, MS Access), SAS DI Integration, Unix shell script, C/C++, SQL query writing, Stored Procedures, FTP, Encryption/Decryption tools, IIS, Apache HTTPD, Apache Tomcat, TCP/IP, Network, Firewall, VM Architecture, SSL Certificate Tools, Active Directory, VPN Solaris, VI Editor, Curl, X Windows, Word, Excel, IE, and Firefox.
• Experience with ETL, structured system development methodologies, data transfer and interface methodologies between mainframes and servers and distributed server environments in a statewide environment.
• Requires excellent communication, analytical and organization skills and the ability to translate business and technical ideas and issues into clear and concise language
• Excellent customer service skills
• Contribute and work within a team environment; and can communicate effectively and professionally in verbal and written form with management and co-workers.
• Advanced knowledge of cloud (OCI, AWS. Or Azure) database systems is required, along with experience in modifying or developing complex, interrelated applications and solutions.

Required Skills:

• 10 Years - Experience with Administering Database platforms and tools both on prem (Oracle, SQL Server) AND in cloud (RDS, Azure SQL, OCI Autonomous DB)
• 10 Years - Experience in cloud data integration using tools such as Oracle Data Integrator, Oracle Data Studio, AWS Glue, or Azure Data Factory
• 10 Years - Experience with administering and supporting applications within Unix (Solaris) or Linux OS
• 10 Years - Experience in writing, debugging, and optimizing Unix Shell scripts
• 5 Years - Experience with cloud Data Warehouse and Data Engineering technologies such as Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, and AWS RedShift
• 5 Years - Experience with supporting applications within Mainframe with deep understanding of mainframe data types and data structures
• 5 Years - Experience in working with mainframe-based data systems and leveraging modern data processing tools and technologies for extraction and transformation
• 3 Years -Experience with implementing and administering Managed File Transfer (MFT) systems such as GoAnywhere
