Role Overview
We are seeking a Junior Systems Administrator to join a technical operations team supporting a large-scale virtualized server environment. This individual will serve as the overnight escalation point for operating system-related issues passed on from the service desk. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in systems administration, a proactive mindset, and a desire to grow within an enterprise-level infrastructure.

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00/hr.

We are seeking a Junior Systems Administrator to join a technical operations team supporting a large-scale virtualized server environment. This individual will serve as the overnight escalation point for operating system-related issues passed on from the service desk. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in systems administration, a proactive mindset, and a desire to grow within an enterprise-level infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 2 support for OS-related issues escalated from the service desk
- Troubleshoot and resolve server outages and performance issues
- Perform vulnerability scanning and manual patching using WSUS
- Monitor system health using tools such as SolarWinds
- Collaborate with team members and follow escalation protocols
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow standard operating procedures
- Deliver white-glove support to internal stakeholders
Required Skills
- Minimum 1 year of experience supporting a virtualized Windows Server environment
- Ability to identify root causes and restore server functionality
- Experience with vulnerability scanning and patching (WSUS preferred)
- Exposure to monitoring tools such as SolarWinds
- Strong troubleshooting skills and initiative during low-activity hours
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
Nice-to-Have Skills
- VMware and VMware Horizon experience
- Experience with patching, Windows Server environments, and system diagnostics
Shift Details
This position follows a rotating schedule every four weeks:
- Week A: Three 12-hour shifts (Mon-Wed, 6 PM-6 AM) + one 6-hour shift (Thu, 12 AM-6 AM)
- Week B: One 6-hour shift (Thu, 12 AM-6 AM) + three 12-hour shifts (Fri-Sun, 6 PM-6 AM)
Growth Opportunity

- Bachelor's degree + 1 year experience
- Associate's degree + 4 years experience
- No degree + 9 years experience
