Client is a small, growing consulting company, with a focus on AI and Data Solutions. They are seeking a SQL Server based Data Engineer

What You'll Do:

  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and client team members to understand business requirements and translate them into robust SQL Server-based data solutions
  • Assess existing legacy system to understand how it works and identify and prioritize areas for improvements
  • Design, develop, and maintain efficient ETL pipelines and data integration processes using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and other SQL Server-native tools
  • Build and optimize relational data models, stored procedures, views, and indexes to support reporting, analytics, and application performance
  • Create and maintain reliable jobs for data delivery and ingestion to/from varied sources including flat files, APIs (e.g., Salesforce, Electronic Medical System, Mulesoft), and operational databases
  • Ensure high data quality and integrity through testing frameworks and validation processes
  • Establish and enforce best practices for data governance, security, and access control
  • Collaborate with BI teams to ensure SQL Server structures support tools like Power BI and Tableau
  • Monitor data pipelines and troubleshoot performance or reliability issues as they arise
  • Maintain clear, thorough documentation for data architecture, processes, and operational workflows
  • Participate in cross-functional team discussions, contributing both technical insight and a people-first perspective

What You'll Bring:

  • Strong experience in SQL Server development and administration, including T-SQL, SSIS, and SQL Server Agent
  • Proven ability to build scalable and maintainable ETL pipelines
  • Proficiency in relational data modeling, performance tuning, and indexing strategies
  • Comfort working with varied data sources and integrating structured and semi-structured data
  • Familiarity with data security, governance, and compliance best practices
  • Experience collaborating in dynamic, client-facing environments
  • Bonus: Exposure to Azure Data Services, DevOps practices, Tableau, Power BI development, Robotic Process Automation tools like Automate
