Job Description

We are seeking a Linux/SCADA Administrator (Engineering Tech III) to join our Control System Application Services Team in downtown Los Angeles. The ideal candidate will have strong Linux administration skills, SCADA operations experience, and the ability to maintain secure, reliable infrastructure for mission-critical water control systems.

Work Schedule:

  • 44/36 schedule, Monday Friday, 7:00 AM 4:30 PM, with every other Friday off

  • 100% Onsite (No Remote/Hybrid)


Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day SCADA operations support, troubleshooting both software and hardware issues.

  • Manage Linux-based SCADA infrastructure, including installation, configuration, and updates.

  • Develop and maintain OS images; configure Linux OS deployment strategies.

  • Set up and maintain infrastructure automation and management tools, including satellite servers.

  • Maintain Linux-based controllers and apply software updates.

  • Utilize tools such as SolarWinds and Sophos (or similar) for system monitoring and security.

  • Collaborate with IT, project management, and network/security teams to ensure system security and performance.

  • Manage and work within virtualized environments.


Required Skills:

  • Strong Linux system administration expertise.

  • OS imaging and deployment using Linux management tools.

  • Infrastructure automation & satellite server management.

  • Experience with SolarWinds and Sophos (or comparable tools).

  • Familiarity with virtual environments.

  • Hands-on experience in server management best practices.


Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED + 2 years of college-level engineering courses.

  • 6+ years of relevant experience (including 2 years at Engineering Tech II level).


Preferred Certifications:

  • RHCSA (Red Hat Certified System Administrator)

  • CompTIA Linux+

  • LPIC-2

  • LFCS
