Join our Custom Government Web Development team!

Our team takes ownership for planning, building, maintaining and operating custom web applications for the US government which live on Akamai's global platform. We design, develop and deploy critical technologies including software and network infrastructure to support this technology. Our team ensures consistent availability and performance for our customers.

Partner with the best

The Release Engineer II plays a key role in overseeing the software release lifecycle. This includes managing release processes and documentation, preparing software and infrastructure for production deployment. This role will lead release hand-offs, maintain Jenkins deployment pipelines, Ansible automation scripts, and team lab environments.

As a Release Engineer II, you will be responsible for:
  • Preparing release artifacts and documentation for deployment onto the Akamai platform
  • Communicating with other operational teams to ensure releases are executed seamlessly and efficiently
  • Designing and implementing tools and pipelines that help automate builds and releases
  • Managing and facilitating engineering and release plans, execution and workflows
  • Collaborating with other teams to influence and shape the design process and product development

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:
  • Have 2 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or its professional equivalent
  • Possess DevOps principles and familiarity with SDLC techniques. Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and Anisble
  • Have experience working with Linux/Unix systems
  • Have familiarity with monitoring tools such as Nagios and version control system experience such as Git, Perforce

  • Possess solid communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills
  • Have a government security clearance, or the willingness and ability to possess clearance

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US based candidates only - the base salary for this position ranges from $62,400 - $129,600/year; a candidate's salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
