Overview & Responsibilities:
Join the Privacy Engineering team at a leading transportation network company to build critical in-app features that protect user data. You will be responsible for migrating high-visibility user flows specifically Account Deletion and Data Export from web-views to fully native Android experiences. This is a high-impact execution role where your code will ensure the app honors the legal privacy rights of millions of users globally. You will
Independently build and ship in-app user privacy features (approx. 20 screens) including data deletion, data export, and data history.
Collaborate closely with Staff Engineers to implement designs using modern Android frameworks (Jetpack Compose).
Ensure 100% reliability and compliance by writing robust code with extensive Unit and Snapshot testing.
Integrate with existing backend APIs and handle network states/error scenarios gracefully.
Provide regular status updates to technical and non-technical stakeholders (Legal, Privacy Analysts).
Required Qualifications:
3-5+ years of Android developer experience.
Proficiency in Kotlin and Reactive Programming (RxJava/Coroutines).
Strong experience with Jetpack Compose, Declarative UI, and XML layouts.
Proven experience engineering consumer-facing mobile applications with millions of active users.
Strong focus on code quality, maintainability, and testing (Unit/Snapshot).
Ability to execute quickly on defined requirements and designs.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with Privacy Engineering, Compliance, or Legal requirements.
Background in "gig economy" or e-commerce applications.
Familiarity with migrating web-view features to native code.
