Data Scientist

M9 Solutions is seeking a Data Scientist to work on-site for a client located in Springfield or Lorton, VA. An active TS/SCI clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Support a government behavioral analytics platform.
• Design advanced analytics across large datasets to uncover insider threat indicators.
• Perform exploratory data analysis using math, statistics, and scientific methods.
• Use tools like Python to clean, normalize, and structure data.
• Experiment with data to uncover patterns and develop innovative solutions.
• Work with engineering teams to create a secure and scalable data environment.
• Help prioritize data projects and resolve data quality or integration issues.
• Define key data assets and support long-term enterprise data strategies.
• Connect threat intelligence feeds to the client data platform and dashboard within 10 business days of availability.
• Support engineers with data integration across various security tools and systems.
• Use Python to access APIs (SOAP/REST) for smooth data ingestion.
• Ensure strong API connections to unify threat data into a centralized system.
• Analyze large volumes of system logs to detect insider threats and cyber intrusions.
• Apply custom techniques to legacy and modern IT systems to find suspicious activity.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
• Bachelor's degree with 8 - 12 years of experience or Master's Degree and 6 - 10 years of experience.
• Strong problem-solving skills and technical aptitude.
• Knowledge and understanding of cybersecurity.
• Knowledge of security across various platforms.

• M9 Solutions' pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. $60,000 - $180,000 USD
