We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Tableau Developer to join our growing Data & Analytics team. The ideal candidate will be a Tableau expert with a strong background in data visualization, business intelligence, and data warehousing principles. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-impact Tableau dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights to various business units. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, analytical thinking, and excellent communication skills to translate complex data into intuitive visual stories.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dashboard Development: Lead the end-to-end development of interactive and visually appealing Tableau dashboards, reports, and visualizations from conceptualization to deployment, ensuring data accuracy and optimal performance.
  • Data Modeling & Preparation: Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to understand data sources, develop robust data models (e.g., Star Schema, Snowflake Schema), and perform complex data preparation (ETL/ELT) within Tableau (e.g., using Tableau Prep, custom SQL, data blending).
  • Requirements Gathering: Work closely with business stakeholders across different departments (e.g., Marketing, Sales, Operations, Finance) to understand their analytical needs, pain points, and reporting requirements.
  • Performance Optimization: Optimize Tableau dashboards and data sources for performance and scalability, implementing best practices for efficient data querying, calculations, and rendering, especially for large datasets.
  • Advanced Analytics: Design and implement complex calculations, parameters, sets, and advanced analytical functions within Tableau to derive deeper insights.
  • Data Governance & Quality: Ensure data integrity, consistency, and security within all Tableau solutions. Implement best practices for data governance, documentation, and version control.
  • Mentorship & Best Practices: Serve as a subject matter expert for Tableau, providing guidance, training, and support to junior developers and business users. Champion data visualization best practices and promote a data-driven culture.
  • Troubleshooting & Support: Provide ongoing support, troubleshooting, and maintenance for existing Tableau reports and dashboards.
  • Innovation: Stay up-to-date with the latest Tableau features, industry trends, and data visualization techniques to continuously enhance our BI capabilities.

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Tableau Developer, with a strong portfolio of impactful dashboards.
  • Proven experience in a senior or lead role, guiding projects and mentoring team members.

Technical Skills:
  • Expert proficiency in Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server/Cloud (including administration, security, and performance tuning).
  • Strong expertise in SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and analysis from various relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle).
  • Experience with Tableau Prep for data cleansing, transformation, and shaping.
  • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts (dimensional modeling, ETL/ELT processes).
  • Experience connecting to a variety of data sources (cloud data warehouses like Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery; APIs; flat files).
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, R) for advanced analytics or data preparation is a plus.

Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills:
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to translate complex business questions into technical requirements and actionable data visualizations.

Communication & Collaboration:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.

Education:
  • Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred
  • Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field preferred
