Job Title: OpenText Exstream Solution SME / Architect
Location: Remote
Duration: Long term Contract
We are seeking an experienced and visionary OpenText Exstream Solution SME to lead the design, development, and delivery of enterprise correspondence and letter generation solutions. This role requires deep expertise across the OpenText Exstream platform (including Empower, Cloud Native architecture, and legacy server-based editions), with the ability to architect scalable, future-ready solutions integrated across a diverse system landscape. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of correspondence systems, legacy modernization, and cloud migration, along with hands-on experience in Exstream implementation, integration, and delivery across multiple channels-print, email, SMS, and digital. This is the key bit general architecture, high availability design etc. can be covered by folks we already have in house. Need that specific application-level expertise in OpenText
Key Responsibilities
Architect, Design, and Implement enterprise correspondence solutions using OpenText Exstream, including template development, data mapping, workflow configuration, and output delivery (knowledge of, provide guidance on best practices but probably won't be the 'do-er' of these activities)
Translate business needs into scalable and maintainable Customer Communications Management (CCM) solutions.
Contribute to solution architecture and roadmaps for legacy modernization and platform consolidation across multiple business domains.
Lead integration efforts with upstream and downstream enterprise systems (e.g., Appian, OnBase, FileNet, EDI) using APIs, service connectors, and data interfaces.
Enable multi-channel communications (print, email, SMS, digital) within OpenText Exstream and extend capabilities via reusable Java/.NET components.
Collaborate across teams, including business stakeholders, technical architects, developers, and vendor partners to ensure alignment on solution design and delivery.
Guide migration initiatives from legacy CCM tools (e.g., DOC1, Mainframe systems) to modern OpenText Exstream (cloud or hybrid).
Support version upgrades, ensuring platform stability, backward compatibility, and adoption of new features (preferably experience with Exstream 22.x 25.x).
Participate in ARB (Architecture Review Board) discussions and influence decisions on correspondence strategy and technical direction.
Contribute to DevOps and cloud-native deployment strategies, including containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes, Helm), and AWS-native storage configuration (EBS, EFS, NFS).
Configure and optimize multi-tenant architecture, ensuring security, scalability, and high availability (HA).
Required Skills and Experience
10+ years of experience working with OpenText Exstream, including Empower, Designer, and Composition Center.
Proven experience with template development, letter generation, batch/on-demand/interactive communications, and print file readiness.
Strong background in cloud-native Exstream deployments and multi-tenant SaaS architecture KEY! (SRN3 model preferred).
Experience in migrating legacy platforms (e.g., DOC1, Mainframe) to Exstream Cloud or Hybrid deployments.
Deep understanding of OpenText integration strategies using APIs, data feeds, and custom connectors.
Hands-on experience with DevOps, containerization (Docker), Kubernetes, and Helm charts within Exstream environments.
Familiarity with AWS cloud services, including EBS, EFS, FSx and NFS, for enterprise storage configurations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to clearly present architecture and solution strategies to both technical and executive audiences.
Experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery models, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with OnBase, Appian, or similar workflow/content platforms.
Prior experience supporting security/compliance reviews, or technical governance processes.
Familiarity with OpenText Exstream roadmap and upcoming version features (23.x 25.x).
OpenText certification or relevant training credentials (a plus).
Healthcare payer domain experience preferred
