RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Salt Lake City, UT that is seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Engineer to lead and execute cloud infrastructure initiatives, with a core focus on migrating to Amazon EKS and implementing multi-region Kubernetes deployments. This role is ideal for a cloud-native technologist passionate about scalable architecture, automation, and cost optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the migration of workloads to Amazon EKS and architect multi-region Kubernetes clusters
* Design and implement infrastructure as code using Terraform and CloudFormation
* Collaborate with development teams to integrate Confluent Kafka and support Event-Driven Architecture (EDA) patterns
* Drive cloud cost optimization strategies across environments
* Evaluate and implement emerging technologies including Generative AI and Agentic coding to enhance platform capabilities
* Ensure high availability, scalability, and security of cloud infrastructure
* Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers
REQUIREMENTS:
* Proven experience with Kubernetes in production environments
* Strong hands-on expertise with AWS services, especially EKS
* Experience with Confluent Kafka and event-driven systems
* Proficiency in Terraform and/or CloudFormation
* Solid understanding of cloud architecture, networking, and security best practices
* Demonstrated success in cost optimization and resource efficiency
Preferred Certifications (Nice to Have):
* CKA - Certified Kubernetes Administrator
* CKAD - Certified Kubernetes Application Developer
* AWS Professional Certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, etc.)
Bonus Skills:
* Experience with Generative AI tools and frameworks
* Familiarity with Agentic coding concepts and applications
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
