Job Details

We are seeking a Senior Data & Operations Engineer to lead key projects driving enterprise data initiatives for our client in Houston, TX. This role partners closely with cross-functional teams to translate data strategies, ETL workflows, and analytics objectives into actionable solutions. The ideal candidate will oversee enterprise-wide data architecture.

$145K - $150K DOE

Full Time Employee- Direct Hire- In Office Monday Friday is a MUST

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate operational, application, and database structure requirements to design software solutions and data models.
  • Set up and manage information management systems to ensure proper operation.
  • Examine structural needs of new applications and software.
  • Improve performance by testing, debugging, and integrating new components.
  • Migrate data from legacy systems to new solutions.
  • Build conceptual and logical data structures and flow diagrams.
  • Collaborate with the data science team to determine future requirements.
  • Deliver operational support for MIS.
  • Provide training and user assistance for staff.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues in a timely manner.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Technical Expertise

  • MSSQL (Microsoft SQL Server): Development and optimization of SQL Server databases, SSIS packages for ETL, T-SQL scripting, and database performance tuning.
  • PostgreSQL with TimeScaleDB: Schema design and management of time-series data, hypertables, efficient query design, and replication strategies.
  • Snowflake: Expertise in cloud-based data warehousing, query optimization, ingestion, role-based access, and integration with BI/ETL tools.
  • Python: Data manipulation, scripting, automation, and pipeline prototyping using pandas, numpy, sqlalchemy, pyodbc, and related libraries.
  • Azure Data Factory: Design and orchestration of pipelines, integration with Blob Storage, SQL, REST APIs, Synapse, and Key Vault.
  • Power BI: Advanced data modeling, dashboard creation, DAX, and secure refresh scheduling for hybrid data environments.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field; 5+ years of experience
  • Must be authorized to work in the US without any sponsorship
  • Must conduct a full background check and drug screen upon hire
  • Strong database structure knowledge, data visualization familiarity, and information mining expertise.
