Business Analyst - II - File Server Consolidation

Position Summary
The Business Analyst (BA) serves as a key liaison between business units and the IT organization, providing technical solutions to prioritized business needs. For this specific file server migration project, the BA will play a critical role in migrating data to centralized SharePoint and OneDrive Cloud Services within our M365 Tenant. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in business processes, a strong understanding of IT systems and capabilities, and the ability to translate high-level business requirements into functional and technical specifications. This position requires a high degree of attention to detail and a proactive approach to project execution.

Core Responsibilities Project-Specific Duties (File Server Migration)
Data & User Identification: Identify all files, folders, and users to be migrated from the existing file server to M365 Cloud Services.
Documentation: Accurately identify and document the data being stored, processed, and migrated, including data size, number of folders, and other relevant details.
Application Inventory: Identify and document all applications currently running in the environment to determine what is in scope for migration and what will be out of scope.
Communication & Coordination: Work with the Project Manager to coordinate downtimes, communicate timelines, and provide adequate communications to the business units being migrated.
Migration Support: Collaborate with Engineers during the change control process and migration, and with Quality Assurance Analysts to confirm successful data migration and user access.
Decommissioning: Monitor and verify progress throughout the server decommissioning process. General BA

Strategy: Determine opportunities to redesign, automate, and standardize business processes to achieve better business results.
Execution:
Serve as a liaison between divisions/functions and IT on projects and enhancements.
Conduct requirements gathering and translate high-level business needs into functional specifications.
Create and maintain business processes, requirements, and functional specification documentation.
Support the creation of test plans and perform testing coordination as needed.
Communicate systems and procedural changes to end users.
Building Capabilities:
Serve as an expert to support the education and training of end users to increase proficiency and adoption of new solutions.
Establish and maintain relationships with key division/function personnel. Core Job Requirements
Expert understanding of one or more division/functions and their business processes.
Strong understanding of IT processes and the ability to translate technical concepts into business language.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong team player with a willingness to collaborate.
Strong analytical and problem-solving/decision-making skills.
Strong capability to execute tasks required in projects and enhancements.

Qualifications
Previous experience with Microsoft technologies, particularly SharePoint.
Experience with Jira is a plus.
