Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead and deliver medium- to large-scale software application development projects. The Project Manager will be responsible for managing project scope, schedule, and resources, while ensuring compliance with DEP project management standards and fostering strong stakeholder relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules in collaboration with software developers, business analysts, data analysts, and subject matter experts.
- Manage project progress, risks, and issues within the approved project plan, budget, and resources.
- Proactively identify risks and escalate issues with recommendations to senior management.
- Facilitate change management processes and ensure effective communication across stakeholders.
- Collect, maintain, and distribute project status reports, meeting minutes, and updates to stakeholders.
- Coordinate project resources and assignments to achieve objectives.
- Ensure compliance with DEP project management methodologies, standards, and policies.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with program partners, customers, technical staff, and vendors.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance project delivery and efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Certification: Active PMP Certification.
- Experience:
- 5+ years in IT project management, with focus on medium-to-large software application projects.
- 5+ years managing multiple projects concurrently.
- 5+ years developing and maintaining project schedules in Microsoft Project.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Iterative).
- Skills:
- Proven ability to plan, monitor, and manage software projects effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication abilities.
- Customer service-oriented with experience in collaborative team environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with environmental regulatory processes and practices.
- Knowledge of DEP s technical environment.
