Senior Linux System Administrator

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Senior Linux System Administrator to manage and maintain our co-located data centers. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Linux systems, VMware, and a strong understanding of data center operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• System Administration: Manage and maintain Linux servers, ensuring their optimal performance, reliability, and security.
• VMware Expertise: Administer and optimize VMware environments, including ESXi hosts and vCenter servers.
• Data Center Operations: Oversee the physical and virtual infrastructure within co-located data centers, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex system issues, including network, hardware, and software problems.
• Automation: Develop and implement automation scripts and tools to streamline system management tasks.
• Security: Ensure systems are secure and compliant with industry standards and best practices.
• Backup and Recovery: Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions.
• Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and changes.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other IT teams to support and enhance the overall IT infrastructure.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in Linux system administration.
• VMware: Proficiency in VMware technologies, including ESXi and vCenter.
• Data Centers: Experience working in co-located data centers.
• Scripting: Strong scripting skills (e.g., Bash, Python, Ansible).
• Networking: Solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., RHCE, VCP) are a plus.
• Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
