Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced IBM SDE Administrator to manage, support, and optimize our IBM Sterling Data Exchange (SDE) environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installation, configuration, performance tuning, and maintenance of the SDE platform to ensure seamless and secure data exchange across the enterprise and with trading partners.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and maintain IBM Sterling Data Exchange (SDE) and related components (e.g., IBM Control Center, Sterling File Gateway).
Monitor SDE environments and proactively troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and performance.
Manage user access, security policies, encryption keys, certificates, and communication protocols (SFTP, AS2, FTPS).
Automate file transfer processes and workflows using SDE s scripting and configuration tools.
Work closely with development, network, and security teams to support integration and compliance requirements.
Perform regular system health checks, backups, patches, and upgrades.
Configure trading partner profiles, communication channels, and schedules.
Maintain documentation for system configurations, standard operating procedures, and incident response.
Provide on-call support and incident resolution outside normal business hours, as required.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
5+ years of hands-on experience with IBM Sterling Data Exchange / IBM Sterling File Gateway administration.
Strong knowledge of file transfer protocols (SFTP, FTP, FTPS, HTTPs, AS2).
Experience with PGP/GPG encryption and SSL/TLS certificate management.
Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting.
Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and performance tuning skills.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with IBM Control Center, Sterling B2B Integrator (SBI), or IBM MQ is a plus.
Understanding of EDI file formats (X12, EDIFACT) and business workflows.
Experience in highly regulated environments with compliance needs (e.g., HIPAA, SOX).
