Buyer III

Genesis10 is seeking a Commodity Buyer III for a 5+ month contract position with a manufacturing company located in Oak Brook, IL, or Racine, WI.

Summary:
Genesis10 is currently seeking a qualified candidate who will perform Analysis (data science, data analytics), resourcing actions, supplier negotiations, surcharge management, reporting, payment resolutions, WMF (waste minimization fund) mitigations, market test, and tech reviews for our client in Oak Brook, IL or in Racine, WI.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze and evaluate external price trends and new product offerings to reduce overall purchasing costs
• Collaborate with suppliers to assure the quality of their products, materials, components, and/or operations, and develop supply recommendations
• Ensure suppliers can meet forecasted demand
• Coordinate efforts in the reduction of purchasing/engineering costs and establish costs for new products.
• Participate in design and/or technical reviews
• Select, recommend, and manage relationships with major suppliers, vendors, or subcontractors to ensure the organization receives satisfactory standards of service.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience with a specific commodity
• Background in procurement, supply chain, and purchasing
• Must be able to read and understand blueprints and specifications
• have logistical knowledge, be able to perform a tech review/quality of product, understand how to navigate for information (most of that being web-based).
• SAP and Excel (think pivots/VLOOKUPs/macros, etc.)
• Only candidates available and ready to work directly as New Journey/Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.
• Able to work as a W2 employee of Genesis10 (no corp-to-corp)
