ECS is seeking an Intermediate Database Analyst/Programmer to work in our Quantico, VA office.
ECS is looking for an Intermediate Database Analyst/Programmer to join our team with the Criminal Investigation Management System (CIMS), which supports the Army Law Enforcement mission under the United States Army Criminal Investigation Division (USACID) in Quantico, VA. USACID's mission is to identify, disrupt, and defeat criminal threats to Army personnel, property, and resources. CIMS is a critical component of this mission providing a secure IT environment to support USACID's expanding role in the law enforcement community. This role will support IT operations, maintenance, development, testing, and application security for CIMS. Duties include:

ECS is seeking an Intermediate Database Analyst/Programmer to work in our Quantico, VA office.
ECS is looking for an Intermediate Database Analyst/Programmer to join our team with the Criminal Investigation Management System (CIMS), which supports the Army Law Enforcement mission under the United States Army Criminal Investigation Division (USACID) in Quantico, VA. USACID's mission is to identify, disrupt, and defeat criminal threats to Army personnel, property, and resources. CIMS is a critical component of this mission providing a secure IT environment to support USACID's expanding role in the law enforcement community. This role will support IT operations, maintenance, development, testing, and application security for CIMS. Duties include:
- Responsible for managing and optimizing database operations, and database management across five environments (Dev Stage 1, Dev Stage 2, Test, Train, and Production) containing 20 total databases.
- Performs database tuning, backup/recovery, monitoring, data validation, and ensures availability and security compliance.
- Provides support during release cycles, transition periods, and emergent Government-directed tasks to ensure uninterrupted operations and mission readiness.
- Responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of
complex databases with respect to access methods, access time,
device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and
security, documentation, statistical methods, data standards, policies,
and procedures. - Maintains database dictionaries, overall monitoring of government standards and procedures and integration of systems through database design.
- Analyzes and defines data requirements, specifications, data sources and assess the validity of source data and subsequent findings.
- Provides actionable recommendations to critical stakeholders based on data analysis and findings.
- Analyzes and plans for anticipated changes in data capacity requirements.
- Provides recommendations on new database technologies and architectures.
- Reads, interprets, writes, modifies and executes scripts on mission systems.
- Utilizes programming languages to write code, open files, read files, and write to output different files.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with others.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Database Administration, or related field with 5+ years of database management experience, or Associate's degree with 7+ years of direct experience.
- Experience managing enterprise SQL environments required. Security+ certification or equivalent required.
Desired Skills
- Master's degree in Information Systems, Database Administration, or related field.
