This position is onsite/hybrid in our Pleasanton, CA office - remote option is not available for this role.

At the heart of this innovation is the Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence (FDI) platform-our next-generation evolution of Oracle Fusion Analytics Warehouse. Purpose-built for Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications, bringing together business data, ready-to-use analytics, and prebuilt AI and machine learning (ML) models to deliver deeper insights and accelerate the decision-making process into actionable results. We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Data Engineer with deep expertise in distributed data processing and a proven track record of building scalable, reliable, and performant data systems. This role will focus on designing and developing large-scale ETL pipelines, real-time streaming applications, and cloud-native data platforms that power business-critical insights. In this role, you'll build and operate massive-scale, integrated cloud services that power our next-gen analytics platform. You'll work on a "lights-out" data pipeline-the backbone of FDI-that manages the data warehouse for customers across the globe. This is a rare opportunity to work on deeply technical problems in a cloud-native, multi-tenant environment where your work will directly impact thousands of customers and millions of users. US: Hiring Range in USD from: $96,800 to $251,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Responsibilities
What You'll Do?
- Architect and implement end-to-end ETL and real-time data pipelines capable of handling petabyte-scale workloads.
- Build and optimize real-time processing frameworks using Spark Streaming, Kafka.
- Write clean, performant, and maintainable code in Scala (Python/Java a plus).
- Collaborate with data scientists, product managers, and platform engineers to enable robust data-driven solutions.
- Define and enforce best practices for CI/CD, testing, observability, and monitoring in data engineering workflows.
- Drive system design and technical strategy for high-scale distributed systems.
- Provide technical mentorship and help grow engineering talent within the team.
- Drive innovation in data engineering best practices, architecture, and tooling within a cloud-native environment.
Qualifications:
- BS or higher degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent with 12+ years of applied experience
- 12+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on large-scale data systems and machine learning platforms
- Expert-level proficiency in Apache Spark (batch and streaming).
- Strong command of Scala; additional experience with Python or Java preferred.
- Proven experience building large-scale data pipelines and real-time data processing systems.
- Hands-on experience with cloud-native data solutions (OCI, AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure).
- Proven ability to architect distributed systems and pipelines for real-time and batch processing.
- Experience in technical leadership, mentoring, and driving best practices across engineering teams.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to influence architecture decisions and set technical direction across teams.
- Prior experience with Oracle Cloud, or Oracle Analytics is a big plus
