Network Systems Administrator

Apex Systems is hiring for a Network Systems Administrator with a Dept. of Defense client supporting the US Army at Fort Rucker, AL!

Location: 100% on-site Fort Rucker, AL (formerly Fort Novosel)

Schedule/ Hours: M-F, Core Business Hours (8-hour shifts)

Contract Duration: 6 month contract-to-permanent-hire opportunity

Pay Rate: $80k-85k

Specific duties include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Responsible for daily administration of a network/server environment.
  • Installs, configures, and maintains system software.
  • Monitors network performance, troubleshoots issues, and deploys solutions.
  • Plans and implements upgrades, patches, and installation of new applications and equipment.
  • Creates and maintains a disaster recovery, security, and back-up and restore plan.
  • May assist with evaluating new technologies to optimize network efficiency and performance.


Requirements:
  • Active, DoD-issued Secret Security Clearance
  • Must have at least ONE of the following IAT Level II Certification:
  • CompTIA Security+ CE
  • CompTIA CySA+
  • CCNA-Security
  • GICSP
  • GSEC
  • CND
  • SSCP
  • AND Juniper Networks Certified Associate - Junos (JNCIA-Junos), CCNA, or equivalent certification
  • At least 4 years of experience in networking/network management or equivalent field
  • Strong experience with Juniper networks
  • Bachelor's degree in IT-related field (additional years of experience may be used in lieu of degree)
