Description
We are looking for a dedicated Help Desk Specialist to join our team in Richmond, Virginia. This long-term contract position offers an exciting opportunity to support and troubleshoot IT hardware and software issues while contributing to the overall efficiency of our technology services. The ideal candidate will bring strong problem-solving skills, technical expertise, and a collaborative mindset to ensure the seamless resolution of technical challenges.
Responsibilities:
Diagnose and resolve technical problems related to IT hardware and software systems.
Document issues and troubleshooting steps in a ticketing system to ensure accurate tracking and resolution.
Escalate urgent issues to the appropriate teams or supervisors when necessary.
Conduct research to identify effective solutions for technical problems and assist in creating detailed documentation.
Collaborate with IT team members to share knowledge and improve problem resolution processes.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of IT systems, roles, and responsibilities within the organization.
Assist in managing hardware and software inventory to ensure accurate records.
Provide meticulous and timely support to end-users, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
Work independently to resolve complex technical issues while adhering to established guidelines.
Contribute to writing and maintaining technical documentation for internal and external use.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent; additional computer training or certifications are a plus.
Preferred: Degree in computer technology or a related field.
Minimum of two years of experience in IT support or a related role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong understanding of Microsoft operating systems and Office productivity tools.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse groups.
Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work with minimal supervision.
Strong attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with ticketing systems and technical documentation processes.
