Mechanical Engineer Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team in the laboratory automation space. This role involves designing, calculating, building, and testing various hardware components essential for our innovative projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of safety protocols, project management, and fabrication best practices, along with hands-on experience in 3D printing and the use of industry-standard hand tools. Excellent communication skills and a keen attention to detail are crucial for success in this position, as you will collaborate with engineers and researchers both locally and remotely.

Responsibilities:
- Design and develop hardware components for laboratory automation systems.
- Calculate specifications and build prototypes based on design requirements.
- Conduct tests on hardware components to ensure functionality and safety.
- Research products online to support design efforts.
- Create CAD drawings and technical documents including assembly instructions, bill of materials, machine shop prints, and presentations.
- Assist in assembling prototypes and running tests.
- Participate in design reviews with project teams.
- Collaborate effectively with engineers, maintenance teams, scientists, machine shop personnel, carpenters, electricians, technicians, and vendors.
- Maintain meticulous documentation and organization of project materials.
