Position Summary

Provide and design Samsung vRAN (virtual) solutions for customer engineering teams.

Role and Responsibilities

Duties: Provide and design Samsung vRAN (virtual) solutions for customer engineering teams. Support in resolution of operational issues and high severity issues to meet Service Level Agreement (SLA) requirements. Drive engineering support teams to troubleshoot commercial wireless Radio network configuration, propose workarounds, and work with R&D to provide Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to the customer. Utilize extensive troubleshooting experience in 4G/5G vRAN network deployment and commercial network to evaluate and provide engineering support troubleshooting RAN interface issues in a multi-vendor deployment with Samsung vRAN solution. Assist clients in developing and implementing Samsung products related method of procedures, including upgrade, integration, and configuration, in the commercial networks. Assist clients with troubleshooting issues related to the orchestration and integration of 5G vRAN software in cloud platforms. Work closely with various cross-functional support and R&D teams to achieve success with new product rollouts and deployment. Develop procedures to conduct technical training and deep dive sessions on new technology introduction of 5G vRAN element manager, features and virtualized networks. Provide subject matter expert (SME) support to clients' engineering teams. Seamlessly manage outage situations with client and internal teams to drive resolution within the SLAs. Support 4G/5G vRAN network deployment and commercial network to successfully resolve sporadic complications that may arise.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications or related field and five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience as Professional II, Network System Technical Support or related occupation in customer engineering and support. Of the 5 years of experience at least 1 year must have included: (1) Troubleshooting, deployment, validation and optimization experience in supporting 5G RAN or Core virtualization, including OpenStack/OpenShift, cloud & IP Networking technologies; (2) Experience with 3GPP systems, including 4G/5G virtualized RAN or Packet core networks architecture, developing C&I, software upgrade MOPs for new nodes in the commercial networks; (3) Experience in script automation using command-line tools, SQL, Unix, Linux, Python, and shell scripts; and (4) Experience in optimization and performance improvement for the wireless RAN or Packet core technologies.

Travel Requirement: 20% domestic travel required.
