Job Details
The primary duties of the contract transactional attorney will include:
Negotiate and structure legal instruments for affordable housing financing transactions;
Manage loan closings for affordable housing financing transactions;
Provide legal advice and draft legal memoranda related to statutes, regulations and policy guidance governing various federal and local housing and community development programs and funding sources e.g. Housing Production Trust Fund, Community Development Block Grant Program, HOME Investment Partnerships Program, Low Income Housing Tax Credits, tax-exempt private activity bonds, permanent supportive housing;
Provide legal advice and draft legal documents as necessary in connection with issues relating to agency loan portfolio and project compliance, to include refinancings, subordinations, defaults, workouts and foreclosures;
Analyze property title issues;
Negotiate and prepare legal instruments for acquisition, disposition and sale of District-owned properties;
Litigation management;
Advise agency officials and managers on employment, labor relations and personnel issues;
Process FOIA requests;
Draft and review proposed legislation, regulations, agency policy and procedures; and
Perform other related duties, as assigned.
