Job Title: Network Administrator Project Lead
Location: Cayce, SC
Duration: 12 Months (Full-Time, 40 hrs/week)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Network Administrator Project Lead to support a large-scale enterprise network modernization initiative. The role focuses on upgrading and maintaining network and wireless infrastructure to enhance the performance, reliability, and security of mission-critical systems.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Cisco networking technologies, Palo Alto firewalls, and identity-based networking solutions. This position involves statewide travel across South Carolina to assist with equipment upgrades, troubleshooting, and deployments.
Candidates must be self-motivated, team-oriented, and capable of working independently under limited supervision. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Install, deploy, and maintain enterprise wireless and network infrastructure across multiple locations.
Monitor network performance, identify issues, and remediate problems promptly.
Support wireless and network connectivity across Windows, macOS, and mobile devices (iOS, Android).
Conduct on-site wireless assessments and maintain up-to-date wireless heatmaps using Ekahau tools.
Perform firmware, software, and security updates on networking equipment.
Manage the full lifecycle of network devices and wireless components.
Configure and troubleshoot Cisco and Palo Alto firewalls, routers, and switches.
Register and manage devices on identity-based networking systems.
Serve as the first and second level of network and wireless support, resolving issues via phone, email, or in-person.
Coordinate with internal IT teams to ensure alignment with security standards and project timelines.
Document configurations, troubleshooting steps, and network architecture updates.
Participate in change management processes and provide regular progress reports to leadership.
Support other IT infrastructure projects as assigned, including equipment installations and upgrades.
Adhere to organizational IT security policies and best practices.
Required Skills & Experience
3+ years of experience with LAN, WLAN, and WAN network administration.
3+ years of hands-on experience with Cisco networking and Palo Alto firewalls.
3+ years working with Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) or equivalent identity-based networking solution.
3+ years of experience using ticketing systems for network issue tracking and resolution.
Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, operating systems, and IT infrastructure.
Ability to lift and move equipment (up to 40 lbs) and work on ladders for wireless access point installation.
Valid driver s license and willingness to travel frequently across South Carolina.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Preferred Skills
Professional Network Certification (e.g., Cisco CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent).
Experience with SolarWinds Orion or other network monitoring tools.
Experience using Ekahau Sidekick or similar wireless analysis tools.
Education
Associate s Degree in a relevant technical field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Additional Information
Work Schedule: Monday Friday, 40 hours per week.
Work Environment: Primarily onsite with some fieldwork at remote facilities.
Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
