Overview

DecisionPoint seeks Copywriters to craft compelling, accurate, and audience-aligned content in support of a large federal and DoD-aligned mission environment. These roles produce long-form and short-form written materials for digital platforms, websites, campaigns, stakeholder communications, and program-specific initiatives.

Copywriters ensure clarity, consistency, accessibility, and alignment with enterprise messaging priorities. They work closely with UX, creative, communications, and program teams to produce content that is engaging, SEO-aware, and tailored to diverse audience needs.

These positions are fully remote.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Copywriter will:

  • Write, edit, and refine long-form and short-form content for websites, landing pages, digital campaigns, social media, feature stories, newsletters, and stakeholder communications.
  • Ensure tone, messaging, and terminology remain consistent across all content channels.
  • Develop copy that adheres to brand voice guidelines, readability standards, and accessibility requirements.
  • Translate complex policy or program information into clear, user-friendly language.
  • Collaborate with UX designers, content strategists, and communications teams to support integrated content planning.
  • Contribute to SEO efforts through keyword incorporation, metadata recommendations, and structured content practices.
  • Produce copy for scripts, storyboards, and video or podcast content as needed.
  • Conduct content reviews for accuracy, grammar, formatting, style, and compliance.
  • Maintain content version control, documentation, and updates across repositories.
  • Support editorial calendars and coordinated messaging for campaigns and communications initiatives.
Qualifications

Clearance Requirement

Candidate must possess a Tier 2 Moderate Risk Public Trust (from any federal agency) or an active Secret clearance or higher.

Education (Required)

Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Digital Media, or a related field.

Experience (Required)

  • Minimum 5 years of professional writing or copywriting experience.
  • Experience developing content for websites, digital platforms, campaigns, or mission-focused communications.
  • Experience collaborating with communications, UX, design, or marketing teams.
  • Proven ability to simplify complex subject matter for diverse audience types.


Technical Knowledge (Required)

  • Strong command of grammar, editorial standards, AP Style, and plain language principles.
  • Experience writing for SEO, accessibility (508/WCAG), and digital readability.
  • Familiarity with content management systems and structured content practices.

Technical Knowledge (Preferred)

  • Experience supporting federal, DoD, or large enterprise communications.
  • Experience with UX writing, microcopy, or structured content design.
  • Knowledge of analytics tools to support content performance insights.
