Job Title: Drupal Developer with PHP, WordPress
Location: Austin, TX
Duration: 12+ Months Contract
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Web Developer / CMS Administrator with deep expertise in Drupal and WordPress to support the development, administration, and maintenance of an enterprise-level website and internal browser-based applications. This role involves working within LAMP/LEMP stacks, customizing content management systems, and collaborating across teams to standardize templates and maintain secure, scalable digital platforms.
The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of hands-on experience with PHP-based web development, CMS systems, and Linux server environments. You'll play a key role in the ongoing enhancement of the organization s public web presence and internal applications, ensuring both functionality and compliance with security best practices.
Responsibilities:
* Design, develop, and administer Drupal websites and WordPress blogs
* Develop and maintain browser-based web applications to support business operations
* Customize CMS workflows, themes, and modules in a LAMP/LEMP stack
* Provide Drupal development training and support to team members
* Participate in cross-agency working groups for web standardization and template implementation
* Document all technical procedures, security protocols, and system configurations
* Train agency staff on usage and functionality of internal web applications
* Ensure website security, accessibility, and performance standards are met
* Attend work regularly per organizational policies and perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
* 8+ years of experience in PHP development using LAMP/LEMP stack
* 8+ years of hands-on experience developing and administering Drupal-based websites
* 8+ years of WordPress development and administration experience
* Strong experience with Laravel, Django, Symfony, or other modern web frameworks
* Proficient in Linux command-line interface (CLI)
* Experience with logical database design and security best practices
* Strong understanding of SDLC, programming concepts, and modern development workflows
* High school diploma or equivalent (required)
Preferred Skills:
* Python programming experience within LAMP/LEMP stack
* Familiarity with Drush for Drupal administration
* Knowledge of Drupal Search, Apache Solr, or similar retrieval systems
* Responsive web design and AJAX development experience
* Familiarity with JavaScript, Ruby, Java, and front-end best practices
* Experience addressing web security issues such as XSS and SQL injection
* Prior experience using ticketing tools (e.g., Remedy, KACE)
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
* Industry certifications in web development or programming
