Description:
Our Client is seeking a seasoned CMDB Consultant with deep expertise in large-scale Configuration Management Database (CMDB) implementations to support a major data improvement initiative at a leading Property & Casualty Insurance company. The organization manages over 35 million Configuration Items (CIs) and is embarking on a strategic effort to enhance CMDB accuracy, streamline data quality, and optimize discovery processes.

Pay rate: $80-$90/hr

Responsibilities: Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and advise on CMDB strategy, architecture, and governance for a large-scale implementation.
  • Assess current CMDB structure and data integrity; identify gaps and recommend remediation plans.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and service management teams to align CMDB with business and IT needs.
  • Design and implement data cleanup processes, including deduplication, normalization, and enrichment.
  • Develop and enforce CMDB policies, standards, and best practices.
  • Support integration with ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow) and discovery tools.
  • Provide guidance on CI classification, relationships, and lifecycle management.
  • Create dashboards and reports to monitor CMDB health and progress.
  • Mentor internal teams and provide training/documentation as needed.


Experience Requirements: Required Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience in IT Configuration Management and CMDB consulting.
  • Proven success in navigating large-scale CMDB implementations (preferably with 10M+ CIs).
  • Strong understanding of ITIL framework and CMDB governance.
  • Hands-on experience with ServiceNow CMDB
  • Expertise in data modeling, CI taxonomy, and reconciliation processes.
  • Familiarity with discovery tools (e.g., ServiceNow Discovery, SCCM, Tanium).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and drive initiatives in a complex enterprise environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in the Insurance industry, especially Property & Casualty.
  • Certifications: ITIL, ServiceNow CMDB, or equivalent.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and hybrid environments.


Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in related field
