Description

As a Structures Engineer - Entry Level in our Orlando, Florida office. You will need familiarity with structural/bridge design process through the application of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications, the FDOT Structures Manual and/or FDOT Construction Specifications.

Your Primary Responsibilities will include
  • Develop structural calculations and assist in the production of engineering drawings for both Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build projects related to bridge and transportation structures
  • Participate in engineering alternatives analysis by completing well-defined tasks including collecting and analyzing data, performing routine calculations and participating in evaluating the feasibility of alternate solutions
  • Prepare sections of reports under close supervision of an experienced professional engineer
  • Prepare and check quantity tabulations
  • Prepare and/or review shop drawing submissions
  • Prepare Request for Information (RFI) responses for post design services

What you'll need
  • Bachelors of Science from an ABET-accredited university in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Fundamentals of Engineering (EI) certification or ability to obtain certification
  • 0-4 years of structural engineering experience
  • Familiarity with using AutoCAD, MicroStation, and OpenBridge Modeler
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented team player with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment
