This position focuses on managing IT spend, budgeting, and financial tracking rather than traditional accounting functions. The ideal candidate has a finance or accounting background, understands how IT departments operate, and can confidently partner with IT leaders, project managers, and technical teams to track costs, forecast spend, and support informed decision-making. This is a contract role with potential to convert to full time.


Key Responsibilities



  • Manage and track IT spend across multiple initiatives, including Authorizations for Expenditure (AFEs) treated as individual IT projects

  • Ensure alignment of spend to approved business cases, including CAPEX vs. OPEX determinations

  • Track accruals, forecasts, and actuals, tying costs to the correct cost centers

  • Partner closely with IT project managers and IT leadership to coordinate timelines, budgets, and financial updates

  • Maintain and enhance IT spend reporting and dashboards using Excel and Power BI

  • Develop and support automated cost analytics to improve visibility and reduce manual effort

  • Perform variance analysis and identify trends, risks, and opportunities for cost optimization


Required Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field

  • 3+ years of experience in IT financial analysis, cost analysis, or an IT-adjacent finance role

  • Strong understanding of: Budgeting and forecasting, CAPEX and OPEX, Cost tracking and financial controls

  • Advanced Excel skills and Power BI experience

  • Experience supporting IT departments or IT projects (infrastructure, security, applications, etc.)

  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously with a high level of organization

  • Comfortable coordinating across multiple stakeholders

  • Strong communicator who can translate financial data into clear insights
