SUMMARY

The IT Intern supports the day-to-day functions of the IT Team while learning fundamentals through hands-on projects, research, and guided reading. This intern actively receives training from mentors within the department, with the opportunity to shadow various roles and work on special projects. This is a part-time role (less than 30 hours per week), with flexible scheduling to accommodate class schedules.

The ideal candidate for this program should be a third-year or beyond college student pursuing a major in IT or a related field. A positive and proactive approach to work, desire to collaborate and work with a passionate team, and the ability to remain organized and focused will all be essential to this intern's success.

Overall, this program provides a unique and exciting opportunity for the IT Intern to participate in many facets of operation, while developing essential skills and contributing to the department. Mentored by a dedicated team of professionals in support of a thriving multi-state company, the IT Intern develops essential career skills to support their continued education and success.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Shadow and gain an understanding of IT operations, rotating through various specialties to observe workflows and team dynamics.
  • Assist in the setup and installation of equipment, such as PC's and laptops.
  • Participate in IT support efforts by screening and directing calls, documenting and monitoring requests in the support ticketing system, and assisting with writing procedures.
  • Contribute to special projects, providing strong research, attending and participating in meetings and project tracking, and reporting ongoing progress to the IT Manager.
  • Prepare summaries, reports, and presentations to share learnings and recommendations with senior leadership.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements throughout the internship.
  • Assume responsibility for special projects as assigned.

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS

  • Current enrollment toward a degree in IT or a related field required.
  • Minimum Junior or beyond collegiate experience required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all internship functions.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with internal and external customers at all levels.
  • A positive and proactive approach to work, demonstrating enthusiasm, adaptability, and the ability to maintain composure and professionalism in stressful or adverse conditions.
  • Research and critical-thinking abilities, with skill to successfully organize work and manage time.
  • Proficient computer literacy, including comfort with Microsoft systems and Office Suite.
  • Intermediate typing skills to meet the needs of this position.
  • Current driver's license and reliable transportation with appropriate insurance coverage; additionally, the ability to drive occasionally in the course of performing assigned duties and responsibilities.
  • The ability to work with minimal or no supervision.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working in an office environment preferred.

Compensation: $20.00/Hr.
